Classes have started back up, and are a perfect way to keep busy during the cold winter months. Remember, you must register for the class if you’re planning to attend, but can skip the PayPal step if you prefer to pay cash at class time. One hour classes are $15, and the fee includes all materials.

Small Business Saturday is November 30, and is your opportunity to spend money this holiday season at a local business. When you spend locally, 70% of the money stays in our beloved home state of Indiana. The studio will be open from 11am-7pm, as well as many other local retailers in the Fountain Square area. We’ll also be having a ornament workshop where you can make 2 personalized ornaments for $5, and pick them up on December 14th, or anytime after by appointment. Hope to see you then..
Last night we hosted our first guest artist for First Friday and his show was a bit hit. Coming up in November will be VSAI artist Thomas Hamilton. Tom handbuilds fantastic, colorful bottles and boxes, and sells them at very fair prices. You can see his artwork showcased reguarly at The Harrison Center and we’re happy to borrow him to showcase at The Murphy Arts Center on Friday, Nov. 1. Hope to see you there!

You or your kiddos can throw a pot on the wheel for just $5, make a pinch pot pumpkin for $10, or just browse our inventory of wares from Get Dirty Ceramics and Paul Hayes Pottery. A full day of local bands, all proceeds go the Fountain Square Arts Council. The studio will be open most of the day with some pop up classes and our regular Teen Class at 6pm. We’re air conditioned if you just want to stop in for a break from the bands to say “hello”!
If you notice some missing dates on the class schedule the first couple weeks of July, it’s because I’ll be teaching an ArtReach course for that time period. I apologize if this upsets anyone’s schedule. I also take an occasional Saturday off, to have a free weekend to spend with the family and such, but am uaully back at it the next one. It’s a win/win for kids and adults. Parents/Guardians enjoy 45 minutes in The Murphy Building, enjoying the many “adult only” privileges that the Upland Gallery and the 317 Lounge have to offer, while your children make a one-of-a-kind art project. $10 gives you 45 minutes of freedom to roam the building’s exhibits, and your child goes home with a unique ceramics experience*. Register online, or show up five minutes prior to class time to register.
